Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah....

I would have never dreamed that zipper headbands and feather fascinators would be such a hit! We unveiled these at our 1 Year Open House and they are selling like crazy!

They appeal to women of all ages and it's so fun to watch them try them different ones on. They usually always buy at least 2. :)

Zipper Cuff

As one of the store buyers for jewelry & accessories, I often take my daughter along for fresh and hip ideas. Us old gals don't know everything! One of her first picks was the zipper headband in the very first picture. She liked it so much that she got one for herself.

Dolly is our headband model. I know Sharon will love her. :) She balances perfectly on top of this cloche because it has a large knob on top. I filled the inside with dried hydrangeas and a pretty paper butterfly. Must keep..it's just TOO cute!

The above headbands have just the right amount of oomph...a nice flat feather and swirled bead button. These are available in chocolate brown and black.

We carry an assortment of fascinators in black, brown, burgandy and teal.

You'll be the talk of the town with a feather on your head! If it isn't your cup of tea, we have beautiful rhinestone hair barrettes as well. Come on over to The Attic to see for yourself.
Priced from $12 to $22.

A Truck Load Of New at The Attic

This little lamp is ADORABLE! Especially the shade.

(Sorry, I'm sold!)
This fabulous desk is one of our new arrivals this week. Isn't she a beauty?
Lots of cubbies..drawers, graceful curves. It definitely warrants a second look!

Beautiful in blue....this lovely chest has been painted in a new shade we are using at the store. It's just so soft and perfect for the beach cottage home.

Another wonderful desk in black and dressed in fabulous hardware!

And finally, this wonderful vanity or washstand with tri fold mirror. It is so high, we are having doubts about it being a vanity. What do you think? This was taken shortly after we got it and as you can see, the top was in poor shape with no stain left on the wood. Our first thought was to just paint the entire piece black...maybe white. No, black..or forget it! haha.. The more I looked at it, the more I wanted to save it's original look and just paint the top black to match the original black trim around the mirrors. So Jane and I painted the top black and used Restore a Finish on the rest of the piece. I then waxed the top to give it a slight sheen. This was my first experience with hand waxing and I must say...It wasn't as easy as I thought..reminded me of the days when I used to paste wax my old car. Putting it on was a piece of cake, polishing it was NOT fun! LOL...

So here she sits holding our latest arrivals of feathered headbands.

If anyone has any questions about items we show on the blog, feel free to leave a comment or email us! We can arrange to ship furniture and it's quite reasonable if delivered to a commercial address.

Windows Update

It was difficult to capture the beauty of these new window treatments. They really give the windows a facelift!

Our friend Pam offered to give our windows an update the week before the party, so we took her up on it! We said adios to the ho-hum white sheers which have been with us for a year. Say hello to our beautiful new drapes, a beautiful natural look that will compliment anything we put in the windows. We place a wooden columm in the corner for the drape to wrap around. Pam did an outstanding job, as always. We have purchased our shop pillows from Pam for many many years and returning visitors to Coronado always remember her pillows.

We also put up our window lettering..something we have wanted to do for awhile and it looks fantastic!

The Party's Over...

but memories of this day will remain in our hearts forever.

The Attic Girls would like to thank everyone who attended our 1 year celebration this past Sunday. It's always fun to see our regular customers who feel more like old friends! Lori from Vignettes arrived a few days early with a beautiful arrangement and card since she was unable to attend. She is the most thoughtful person in the business and has encouraged us every step of the way.

Jenna made the Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes..Yum!

Kandi made my favorite Almond Cake and we had Cupcake Chardonnay.

Once the invitations went out, we received lots of inquiries on who our surprise guest was! Well, we never let the cat out of the bag except I did have to tell my dear friend Lori since she was unable to attend.

Our special guest was none other than Ms. Sophie! Yes, my puggie, the Queen was wearing her pearls for the event. A few months back, Ms. Sophie graciously accepted our invitation to be honorary guest at our event, after we agreed to provide turkey & sweet potato meatball snacks and Perrier.

Ms. Sophie had a photo shoot a few months back, wearing nothing but her crown. We had it printed onto pillows, tea towels and aprons. The tea towels say "Queen Of The Kitchen" and "Reine de la Cuisine" The pillow says "The Queen is not granting an audience today" She wasn't as patient as I had hoped for, but she did stay seated in her chair for a few minutes. She preferred mingling with the guests on the floor as she loves attention and received plenty of it.

We had some visitors who drove an hour to see us and we appreciated it!

Christie Repasy stopped by with Rita Reade, who presented us with an adorable Coronado sign. Isn't she sweet? Besides painted signs, Rita offers soldering classes and participates in La Maison Rustique Barn Sale in Temecula.

The model in Tamerie came out again when she decided to try this vintage number on. It's still available and so darling.

(Chair Is Sold)

Dana came by with her daughter Sarah, who is as cute as a bug and always makes me laugh. I had to run in to get my camera when I saw her sitting on this chair that is stitched with RELAX. She worked the camera like only Sarah can do. Mom, I think she's got a future in comedy because this kid can make everyone laugh!

Dana and Tamerie

At the end of the day we were indeed tired, but not too tired to have some fun with the camera.

Was it the wine or were we all just a little goofy by days end?
I think it was a little of both. :)

Halloween At The Attic

Black Cabinet - Sold

This is our first year to decorate for Halloween, and what fun we had. The above shot is of our small window. You can click on the images to enlarge.

My favorite part of this window was the iron fencing that Kandi brought in. Our larger window was actually easier than the small one. We placed a harvest table and chairs, but kept it pretty simple. Two days later, the table was sold so we are having our shop guy build another.

Table is sold

After we finished the two windows, we decided to take a pizza break and sat at the table. I wonder what people thought as they drove by?...crazy girls. Then we did some major moves on the floor. After working pretty much non stop from 11 to 6 pm, we were all ready to call it a day!
